Your Cells, God's Light Orchestra

Written by Dr. Jen Clark

Have you ever wondered why Moses' face shone after he came down from Mount Sinai?

Moses was so different it was scary. It wasn't just the stone tablets of the law that he carried. His face was actually shining. His skin was glowing like a light bulb. It was so intense that people were truly frightened. Now, we can watch television shows about extreme makeovers, but this was a makeover that topped them all.

"Now it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the Testimony were in Moses’ hand when he came down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him. So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him." (Exodus 34:29-30)

Being in the glory of God had actually transformed the cells of Moses' body!

How could this happen? We know that it was supernatural, but what physical mechanism in the human body could account for the visible change?

Identity receptors

The surface of each one of your cells has identity receptors. Identity receptors actually contain your entire life story. They tell what your life has been like. There is old saying about people who let their emotions show easily, "their heart is written on their sleeve." Actually it would be more accurate to say "your heart is written on your cells."

When your heart, your inner being, changes your cells change. Who you become is imprinted on your cells.

God created us with the physical capacity to be transformed in the very cells of the human body. When you were born again, you became a New Creation spiritually, but the "new creation you " was imprinted on every cell. As you spend time in prayer and grow in grace and the knowledge of God, your cells reflect it. Change inside becomes change outside.

(1 Thes 5:23) Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your   whole spirit, soul, and BODY be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Organ transplants

HLA (human leukocyte antigen) and cell surface receptors are recognized by cells of the immune system. Recognition of HLA by the immune system gives the cell its identity as a member of the organism. These identity receptors will not accept other identity receptors, perceiving them as foreign invaders, and react to reject, or destroy, them.

A conservative, health conscious New England woman had a heart transplant. After the surgery, she found that she had inexplicably developed a taste for beer, fried chicken nuggets, and motorcycles. This was so out of character that she checked into the history of her heart donor and discovered that he was an 18 year old motorcycle enthusiast who loved chicken nuggets and beer.1

A young girl began having nightmares of murder after a heart transplant. The dreams were so detailed and vivid that they led to the capture of the murderer who had killed her donor.2 The Heart's Code by Paul Pearsall, contains many such stories.

The new identities of the transplanted organs influenced the identity of the recipient.

If a transplanted organ can have this much influence on identity, how much more influence should the New Creation identity affect us? We have the life of Christ engrafted into our hearts!

Cellular symphony

There is a newly emerging scientific field that is beginning to explain the theory and science behind energy of the heart and identity. It is uncovering one of the most significant medical, social, and spiritual discoveries of our time. Your body contains a cellular symphony that is the very essence of your being.3

When the molecules of emotion, the neuropeptides, encounter cell receptors, they dance and vibrate and hum together, creating a cellular symphony that sings throughout your physical body. And the symphony plays the love of God when He touches you with His presence.

When the Bible says that believers "sing a new song," they really do. Your whole New Creation being resonates and sings to God.

(Psalm 96:1) Oh, sing to the LORD a new song!

God's Light orchestra

The molecules of emotion are the intercom system of the body. They inform all the cells about how you are responding to everything in life. but every time the love of God touches your emotions, God's nature changes you inside and out. God is Love, God is Light, and God is Glory. Have you ever seen one of those amazing displays of Christmas lights timed to the music? It is a light orchestra. When God touches you, you become God's Light Orchestra. The more time you spend with Him, the more your cells reflect God's Glorious Light!
